Sigur Ros In New York…

Sigur Ros recently played a show at quite an odd venue (even more oddly, it fits), at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

“Shot live at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Icelandic Independence Day, Sigur Rós @ MoMA is a unique concert film highlighting new material from the band’s latest album, “Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust”, as well as classic Sigur Rós songs.

Track Listing:
Sé Lest
Við spilum endalaust
Icelandic National Anthem
Inní mér syngur vitleysingur

Having never been able to see them, as a trip to my native Florida is almost always absent on the Sigur Ros tour, this video is a great portal into what I always miss. All of the open space in the museum must have really contributed to the already aurally atmospheric quality of the Sigur Ros experience (you don’t merely listen to Sigur Ros, you experience them). Not to mention the fantastic cumber-bun rendition of the Icelandic National Anthem showing the versatility of the entire band, only playing brass instruments.
